About the Fix It And Forget It Cookbook

This is a revised and updated version of the Fix It And Forget It Cookbook. New features include:

  • 100 new recipes for slow cookers.
  • “Prep Time,” “Cooking Time,” and “Ideal Slow-Cooker Size” are included for each recipe.
  • 4 pages of basic and very helpful “Extra Information” – “Substitute Ingredients for When You’re in a Pinch”, “Equivalent Measurements”, “Kitchen Tools and Equipment You May Have Overlooked”, and “Assumptions about Ingredients in Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook, Revised and Updated”
  • “Tips for Using Your Slow Cooker: a Friendly, Year-Round Appliance.”
  • An improved index

I love my crockpot. This book contains 700 recipes that are split into categories including

  • Appetizers, Snacks & Spreads
  • Breakfast Foods
  • Breads
  • Soups, Stews and Chilis
  • Main Dishes – Beef, Pork, Pasta, Chicken and Turkey, Bean, Seafood, Meatless and other main dishes
  • Vegetables
  • Desserts
  • Beverages

What I like best about this cookbook is that the recipes are real – they come from regular people like you and I and call for regular ingredients. Another thing that I like about this cookbook is that the recipes are very simple and easy to follow. Each recipe includes cook and prep time and ingredients. Some variations and serving suggestions are included. The only think I wish was different about this cookbook is the way it’s organized. It would be so helpful if each category had an index page of it’s own. There are so many recipes in here it would just make it so much easier to see what there is and even mark off favorites. This cookbook would be a great addition to any collection, as well as a great gift for crockpot novices and lovers alike.

One way I reduced salt in my familys diet was to remove the salt shaker from the table. I don’t add it to my food, we don’t miss it.
