Rudolph Foods What's For Dinner Contest With Review And Giveaway
By valmg on Sep 26, 2009 with Comments 50

Did you know that the month from September 15 through October 15, 2009 was officially proclaimed National Hispanic Heritage Month? Si! Rudolph Foods, the world’s largest producer of pork rinds, is celebrating with a recipe contest. To enter the ¿Qué hay de cena? Recipe Contest, all you have to do is submit a recipe that incorporates Rudolph Foods or Pepe’s brand pork rinds. The top winner will receive $300 and one year’s supply of Rudolph Foods pork rind products. Second through Fifth Place winners will receive one year’s supply of Rudolph Foods pork rind products. The contest ends on 10/30/2009.
The folks at Rudolph’s Foods were kind enough to send me two of their newest products – Rudolph’s Chile Lime Chicharinas and Southern Recipe Cayenne Country Cracklin Strips.

Rudolph’s Chile Lime Chicharinas
Combine the hot punch of a chile pepper with the sweet tang of a lime and package it in a crunchy puffed wheat snack and you’ve got the newest irresistable snack from Rudolph’s Foods!
All four of us like puffy snacks. We all liked the texture. I found this snack to be zesty and unique. RB and TJ really like spicy foods and they both liked the flavor. I’d like to see some more flavors introduced, maybe something like a mild barbeque or bacon and cheese flavor.

Southern Recipe Cayenne Country Cracklin Strips
These are so new they’re not even on the website yet. I don’t really know how to describe them. They’re about the size of curly fry pieces or onion ring pieces. They’re very crunchy and very, very hard. They’re also very, very spicy. I’m not a fan of very spicy foods so I only had one handful of these before I gave them to the guys. While RB and TJ both liked that they were flavorful, they were with me on not being nuts about the texture. I can see where someone might crush these up and use them in a recipe to add a little zip.
Other Rudolph’s products include OnYums and Cinnamon Churros. Their other labels include Pepe’s, Grandpa John’s, Southern Recipe, Rudy’s and Smithfield Farms.
WIN IT!
The winner will receive a their own Cracklin Strips and Chicarinas to try.
