Mini Chocolate Cherry Fillo Cheesecake Recipe With Giveaway
By valmg on Aug 22, 2009 with Comments 60

The Fillo Factory offers a wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, organic and Kosher products including Fillo pastry doughs, shells, desserts and appetizers, Fillo Pies, Yiayia’s Greek Style Foods, Mimi’s Gourmet Gluten-free Chilis and Aunt Trudy’s Fillo Pocket Sandwiches.

I have seen Fillo Factory ready to bake products in the grocery store for years but have never tried any. I decided to be a little creative this week and try making a little something with the Mini Fillo Shells that I received to review. Here’s what I came up with.

To make Mini Cherry Fillo Cheesecakes you’ll need:
- 1 package of 15 Mini Shells from Fillo Factory
- 1 can of cherry pie filling
- 4 ounces of cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of flour
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- hot fudge
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Lay The Fillo Factory Mini Shells out on a baking pan.
In a small bowl mix the cream cheese, sugar and flour.
Stir in the egg, vanilla and lemon juice.
Stir until smooth with no lumps.
Fill The Fillo Factory mini shells with the mixture.
You should have enough mixture to fill each of the shells to the top.

Bake for fifteen minutes.
Remove from oven.

Cool for five minutes.
Drizzle (or cover) the top of the cheesecake with the hot fudge.
Place a cherry from the cherry pie filling on top.
Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
You can skip the refrigeration but they taste even better cold.
Enjoy!
We really enjoyed the little desserts I made. I like the taste of the shells a little better at room temp than cold but the cheesecake filling tastes better cold.
What I thought was neat was that something that tastes so fresh can actually be kept in the freezer for a year or at room temperature for a couple of months. There are a lot of Fillo recipes on the site so keeping a box put away would be an easy way to help you make something quick.
The Fillo Factory products are available nationwide, both in major grocery stores and online.
