FOOD FESTIVAL – Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream With Giveaway

We’re a bit picky about ice cream in our house. It’s just one of those foods that we’ve never found a generic or store brand that tastes as good as a national brand. Breyers is one of two national brands I will buy. With ice cream we all like different things so when it goes on sale I buy one of each of our favorite flavors.
There are a LOT of Breyers flavors – I couldn’t even count them. One of their styles is called Smooth & Dreamy – it contains one half of the fat and one third of the calories as regular ice cream. This past week I tried two Breyers Smooth & Dreamy flavors I hadn’t tried before – Chocolate Chocolate Chip and Strawberry Cheesecake.
I don’t know which of the two flavors I liked better. The Chocolate Chocolate Chip is extremely smooth, it’s not gritty at all. It’s loaded with chocolate flavor. The Strawberry Cheesecake is delicious – the only thing missing from it was the graham cracker crust. To that end I decided I want to get some of those little graham cracker pie shells and make mini Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream snack size pies. One 1.5 quart container of Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream contains 12 half cup servings. Strawberry Cheesecake is 120 calories per serving and Chocolate Chocolate Chip has 140 calories per serving.
If I could ask Breyers to make any one flavor just for me it would be a chocolate Oreo flavor. That would be soooooooooo yummy!

The Breyer’s web site sucks! It took forever to load. Fortunately, we really like Breyer’s ice cream in our house because my husband has some dietary restrictions and Breyer’s reliably lists ingredients and uses quality ingredients. I’ve never tried Butter Almond, but it sounds delicious and I’m putting it on the list for the next time Breyer’s goes on sale at our local grocery store.

Breyer’s is my weakness
I haven’t tried the chocolate chip yet, so I need to. I normally just always go with the best – regular chocolate.
