Envirosax Review And Giveaway

Here’s some facts about single use grocery shopping bags that you might not know.
- Approximately 380 billion plastic bags are used in the United States every year. That’s more than 1,200 bags per US resident, per year. Approximately 100 billion of the 380 billion are plastic shopping bags. An estimated 12 million barrels of oil is required to make that many plastic bags.
- Americans consume more than 10 billion paper bags per year. Approximately 14 million trees are cut down every year for paper bag production. Only 1 to 2% of plastic bags in the USA end up getting recycled.
I was a part of that statistic. I used plastic shopping bags for years. Yes I did reuse them until they couldn’t be reused anymore and then I recycled them, but the damage was still done. Thanks to reusable bags such as those from Envirosax I have decreased my plastic bag consumption drastically.
From the website – Chic, inexpensive and compact, Envirosax® environmentally friendly shopping bags carry the message of re-use to a world ready to embrace a brighter ecological future.
Envirosax was founded by Belinda and Mark David-Tooze in 2004 and is located in South East Queensland, Australia. They dream of a better future for the planet, helped by the use of their reusable shopping bags. Envirosax is committed to operating on ecologically sustainable principles and uses renewable and recyclable products wherever possible.

I received two Envirosax for this review. Each 1.4 ounce bag stores in its own pouch at an amazingly small size of 4″ x 1.5″. One bag unrolled is 19.5″ x 16.5″ and can hold up to 44 pounds. They are hand washable.

The bag sure did hold a lot. Here’s a photo of what I had in the bag, and there was still lots of room to spare. Had I ought a typical regular order I could have doubled the contents of the bag easily. The bag didn’t seem all that heavy and was easy to hold with the thick, sturdy straps.

I was surprised at how small the bag is when it’s all folded up. I liked that the bag has a built in strap with a snap to hold it closed after folding it up. I love that the bag is available in dozens of colors and patterns, with something for every taste or personality. I felt really good using the Envirosax bag because I was using less single use plastic bags and because they’re sturdier than plastic bags. If you’ve ever had a single use plastic bag rip or get a hold and dump your food all over the ground then you understand why I like the sturdiness of the Envirosax bag.
Envirosax bags could be used for grocery shopping, trips to the beach or almost anything. The bags are affordable and would make a great gift for yourself or anyone you know. Envirosax reusable bags are available to purchase in singles and five packs online at www.envirosax.com.
